Boot Camps for Spine Health
Dr. Ammendolia has been in clinical practice for over 35 years, and is now director of the Chiropractic Spine Clinic and the Spinal Stenosis Program at the Rebecca MacDonald Centre for Arthritis and Autoimmune Diseases at Mount Sinai Hospital combining research, clinical practice and teaching. His specialty clinic treats about 70 -100 patients per week and is a training facility for chiropractic and medical residents.
Dr. Ammendolia develops and tests non-operative, evidence-based treatment protocols – more popularly called boot camps –for mechanical, degenerative and inflammatory spinal disorders. They are designed to maximize patient outcomes and standardize chiropractic care across common spine conditions.
“I had an operation for my spinal stenosis that was partially successful. I was struggling to walk even after the operation, losing feeling in my legs and feet. I went to hundreds of different treatments with no results. Then my daughter found Dr. Ammendolia online. I had never been to a chiropractor in my life, and I was skeptical that it would work… halfway through the program, the improvements were really, really dramatic.” – David Stanyar, Spinal Stenosis Boot Camp Participant
The boot camps provide chiropractors with evidence-based tools to effectively manage the following spine conditions:
- Lumbar spinal stenosis
- Persistent low back
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Pregnancy-related back pain
- Osteoarthritis of the hip and knee
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Falls prevention
